49th International Kolkata Book Fair 2026 is scheduled for January 22 to February 3, 2026, at Boimela Prangan, Salt Lake.

Argentina has been named the focal theme country for the book fair. Kolkata Book Fair is recognised by the International Publishers Association (IPA), Geneva and the fair is considered the world’s largest book fair by footfall.
Earlier, the organisers claimed that the previous edition of the fair recorded a footfall of 2.7 million visitors, with book sales amounting to approximately ₹23 crore.
The Kolkata Book Fair 2026 fair will be inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. She’ll be joined by poets, authors, scholars, and special guests, including H.E. Mariano Agustín Caucino, Argentina’s Ambassador to India, as Guest of Honour.
