Cold wave is continued across West Bengal. The chill is intensifying from Cooch Behar to Kakdwip, and temperature is continuously dropping.

According to the meteorological department, Tuesday was the coldest day of the season in Kolkata. On Monday, the city’s minimum temperature was 13.5 degrees Celsius, which further dropped to 12.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
This is about 1.2 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature recorded was 18.2 degrees Celsius, which is approximately 7.2 degrees below average.
People are surprised to experience such intense cold in December after a long time.
The Meteorological Department says that the minimum temperature in Kolkata and other districts of South Bengal will not change significantly for the next two days. This means the cold spell will continue.
After that, the temperature may gradually rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
The department has clarified that there is little chance of the cold intensifying further in South Bengal before the New Year.
The sky remained mostly clear in Kolkata on Tuesday, although some areas experienced fog in the morning.
Dry weather is expected across South Bengal, but a warning has been issued for light to moderate fog. This could reduce visibility to as low as 200 meters.
