
KOLKATA: The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway has introduced “Jungle Safari”. A DHR official informed that the “Jungle Safari,” a new short-distance toy train service between Siliguri and Ghayabari to draw tourists, as well as local people.
The weekend service will offer panoramic views of Darjeeling’s iconic hills, lush green vegetation, and scenic mountain landscape.
The train would carry around 70 passengers per trip, said the official.

The Jungle Safari Schedule
On Saturdays and Sundays, the train would depart from Siliguri Junction at 10am to reach Ghayabari at 1pm. From Ghayabari the train would begin at 2.45pm and it would reach Siliguri Junction by 6pm.
The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway was recognised as a World Heritage Site in 1999.
