In the wee hours of Thursday, a major fire broke out at the Synergy Building in Newtown area. The building is prominent commercial hub in the city housing multiple offices.

According to the reports, the fire started at around 7:00 AM in the morning. Thick smoke was seen oozing from the upper floors creating panic among employees and residents of the nearby buildings.
Immediately, emergency services were alerted, and four fire engines were dispatched to the spot.
While this report was being written, firefighters were working on a war footing to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings.
Preliminary reports from the site suggest that a short circuit in the electrical wiring might have triggered the incident. Locals claimed that the fire may have been started from the bakery’s kitchen that is housed in the building.
Meanwhile, the disaster management teams have also reached to the spot.
