
KOLKATA: In the Gangasagar Mela, Bajrang Parishad has been actively reuniting devotees who got separated in the huge crowd at the Sagar Island.
The Kolkata based organization is not only helping devotees reconnect with their families but is also making arrangements to safely transport those whose whereabouts are unknown back to their homes.
According to the reports, this year, around 6,632 pilgrims were separated from their families at the Gangasagar Mela, of whom more than 6,500 have been reunited with their relatives. However, process of facilitating some devotees return home was completed under the supervision of the Bajrang Parishad.

Around 10 million devotees took bath in Gangasagar this year. Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway had increased its services with 126 special trains for the devotees. Also, the West Bengal state administration is considering keeping the ferry service running day and night during the Gangasagar Mela.
Every year, thousands of pilgrims get separated from their families at the Gangasagar Mela. They are reunited with their relatives with the help of the police and social organizations like the Bajrang Parishad.
Several incidents of theft were also reported at Outram Ghat before the devotees moved towards the Sagar Island.
