The Sealdah division of Eastern Railway has significantly increased train services to facilitate the transportation of pilgrims for the upcoming Gangasagar Mela.

In an unprecedented increase in service, the division has decided to operate 126 special trains this year, compared to 72 special trains in previous years.
Senior Divisional Operations Manager Pankaj Yadav held a strategic meeting with controllers and chief supervisors to successfully manage this massive service expansion.

Yadav described the control office as the “backbone” of the division, emphasizing the crucial role of this department, which is responsible for the smooth and safe operation of 126 special trains.
The meeting focused on seamlessly integrating additional trains into the existing schedule to ensure a comfortable and safe journey for millions of pilgrims.
Pankaj Yadav strictly instructed adherence to operational discipline and clarified that the division is operating with complete vigilance and a zero-tolerance policy. The division’s priority will be efficiency and safety above all else.
