
A teenage girl died tragically after being hit by a train at Vidyadharpur station on the Sealdah South line at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Later Railway police officials took her to the local hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
According to the reports, a resident of Kalikapur,16-year-old Deepsa Pal was talking on phone using her headphones on, sitting beside the railway track. She was hit by a train coming from Canning to Sealdah when it was entering Vidyadharpur station.
She was hit and died on the spot.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Deepsa was wearing headphones, that prevented her from hearing the train’s sound, which caused the accident.
The Railway Police repeatedly warn against using headphones or mobile phones while walking near the railway line.
The Railway Police is also investigating other aspects.
