Kolkata’s mercury soared to 18° C in the last few days of November. December has arrived, but no significant drop in temperature is being recorded.

Weather experts say it is not yet time for the onset of winter in south Bengal, including Kolkata. Along with this, it is being claimed that there may be an alteration in the weather across the state in the middle of this week.
Light clouds are seen in the sky of many districts in South Bengal. Reports claimed that at some places the fog reduced visibility to 200 meters.
However, the Met office said that there is no possibility of rain in any district of south Bengal, including Kolkata, at the moment. The weather department has also ruled out any possibility of rain in North Bengal for the time being.
The Meteorological Department has assured that the temperature will start going down from near Tuesday. By next Friday and Saturday, the minimum temperature of the metropolis may reach 15° C and in the districts 11° C.
