
Election Commission said on Tuesday that nearly 14 lakh SIR (Special Intensive Revision) enumeration forms have been marked as’ inadmissible ‘in West Bengal so far.
The EC said that these forms are “inadmissible” as the voters are absent, duplicate, dead or permanently shifted. On Monday, the number was 10.33 lakh.
Addressing to the press, an EC official said:
“The number was 13.92 lakh as of Tuesday afternoon. We expect this number to continue to grow daily as more updates are received.”
The Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who have been collecting data door-to-door in the state, have played an active role in distributing forms and collecting needful details.
More than 80,600 BLOs, about 8,000 observers, 3,000 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and 294 Electoral Registration Officers have been deployed for this revision Business in West Bengal.
