
Train services on this route were affected for about two hours this morning as the pantograph of the Tarakeswar-Howrah local broke down.
According to reports, the pantograph of the 37314 Down Tarakeswar-Howrah local broke between Nalikul and Kamarkundu stations of the Howrah-Tarakeswar branch, causing a lot of inconvenience to commuters.
The railway staff tried to handle the situation along with alacrity. Later, train operations could be normalised at 8.26 am.
Ved Prakash, chief public relations officer of Eastern Railway, said:
“The pantograph of the train broke in the middle of Nalikul-Kamarkundu station at around 6.30 am. The railway staffs immediately rushed to the spot and mend the issue to normalize the situation. At 8: 26 pm, train operations were back to normal.”
