The West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) has now issued a fresh tender for developing the greenfield port in Tajpur, East Midnapur on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model.

The tender offers 1000 acres of port-linked industrial land & a 99-year concession. Bid submissions open in Feb 2026.
Earlier, the West Bengal cabinet decided to issue a fresh tender for the Tajpur deep-sea port, ending its four-year association with Adani Group for the project.
The Bengal cabinet had approved a proposal by the Adani Ports and SEZ (APSEZ) to set up a deep-sea port at Tajpur in Sept 2021.
Initially, there were two bidders for the first deep-sea project in the state — Adani Ports and JSW Infrastructure.
