PM to Opposition: Perform in Parliament, Not Stage Drama; TMC Hits Back

December 1, 2025 by Santosh Sandilya Leave a Comment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asked to opposition parties to deliver in the parliament and not to any drama. PM Modi took a swipe at Opposition by asking it to not do drama.

PM Narendra Modi said:

“India has lived democracy. The excitement people show strengthens our belief in it. The voter turnout in Bihar reflects the power of democracy, and women’s participation gives us hope.”

Meanwhile, TMC one of the prominent opposition parties, slammed PM on his remarks.

Senior TMC leader and MP Sagarika Ghose reacted sharply on PM’s remarks.

She said:

“It is beyond belief that the Prime Minister, who engages in photo-ops, theatrics, and several dress changes a day, is accusing the Opposition of ‘dramabazi’. The fact is that 40 people have died in West Bengal due to SIR. This is real suffering, not drama.”

In the meantime, AITC MP Abhishek Banerjee has also taken a jibe at PM.

Abhishek Banerjee said:

“What opposition is asking is a debate on SIR. Is it drama? If raising people’s voices is drama, then people will give them a reply in the next election. 40 people, including BLOs, died. They have blamed ECI. Where is accountability from the government? People stood in queues 10 years back during demonetisation. The black money flow has increased. Where is the accountability? Blasts are happening, and terrorists are entering our country. Where is accountability? 40 people have died due to unplanned SIR. Where is accountability? Opposition is working within the legal framework to ask questions. Just because they have won a few states doesn’t mean that they are not answerable to people. The same people will remove you from power. We are raising questions on Pahalgam, 40 people died due to SIR and BJP, and they think this is a drama? We are not against SIR, but we are against the method and way it is being executed. EC didn’t train BLOs, they didn’t remove the glitch, the voter roll is not updated, and when we want a discussion, PM is saying this is drama!”
