December 7, 2025 by Santosh Sandilya Leave a Comment

‘Ek Sath 5 Lakh Gita Path’ event is going to be hosted in Kolkata today. Reports say that the event is likely to be attended by West Bengal Governor Dr CV Anand Bose and Baba Ramdev.

The organisers said that around five lakh devotees are expected to take part in the Bhagavad Gita recital in Kolkata on Sunday aimed at “spiritual awakening of Hindus.”

A spokesperson of the event’s organiser, Sanatan Sanskriti Sansad (an organisation of spiritual gurus from various mutts), said that Baba Ramdev, along with religious gurus Dhirendra Shastri and Kartik Maharaj, will address the gathering and participate in the recitation.

Meanwhile, just sometime back, Bollywood singer Kailash Kher arrives at Kolkata International Airport to participate in the ‘Ek Sath 5 Lakh Gita Path’ event

In the mean time, critics have also something to say.

By reading GIta by 5 lakh participants will minimise unemployment, improve health care for citizens at government hospital, improve quality of life and universal education for citizens of West Bengal? If it can very good, if not why waste time and money.

UPDATE:

Padma Bhushan Sadhvi Ritambhara Ji has also arrived in Kolkata to participate in the event.
