Kolkata Police have made a significant arrest ahead of New Year’s Eve. In a major crackdown on drug trafficking in the city, a Kolkata Police team arrested two men on drug trafficking charges.

According to the police, the arrested individuals have been identified as Nikhil Agarwal (24) and Ronnie Adhikari (26). Nikhil is a resident of the Girish Park area, while Ronnie lives in the Golf Green area.
Police received a tip-off from confidential sources that drug trafficking was taking place in the area. Following this information, the police increased surveillance in the locality.
According to sources, on Tuesday, police spotted the two men acting suspiciously and stopped them for questioning. During the search, MDMA pills and Kush were recovered from their possession.
Police stated that the two men could not provide a satisfactory explanation for possessing the drugs, and they were subsequently arrested.
During the operation, the police also seized a car that the two men may have been using to supply the drugs.
Police said that initial questioning revealed that the two men were in the area with the intention of supplying drugs for New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Police are now interrogating the two men to determine the source of the drugs and whether a larger network is involved.
Rabindra Sarobar police are continuing their investigation into the matter, and vigilance against drug trafficking has been heightened across the city.
