The first Vande Bharat sleeper train is all set to run between Howrah in West Bengal and Guwahati in Assam.
Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, who is the Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology informed on Thursday that complete trial, testing, and certification of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train have been successfully completed.

He said that in the month of January, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi will flag off the first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train on this route.
Meanwhile, outrage has started over the first Vande Bharat Sleeper running between Kolkata–Guwahati because both are election-bound states.
The same hysteria greeted the first Vande Bharat routes. Today, Vande Bharat services span North–South, East–West, metros and non-metros alike.
