In the meantime, the Modi government has a special gift for travel-thirsty Bengalis ahead of the Bengal assembly elections.
A short and inexpensive trip to Varanasi is within reach. After the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, Bengal is getting a bunch of Amrit Bharat Expresses. One of them will run between Sealdah and Varanasi.
The new train is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi sometime in January.
