Annual Sports Festival of Shri Jain Vidyalaya, Howrah Concludes

HOWRAH/KOLKATA: Shri Jain Vidyalaya, Howrah, concluded its annual sports festival at Shailen Manna Stadium (Dalmia Park) in Howrah. The event featured several captivating sports activities performed by students in colorful, rainbow attire, and culminated with the awarding of prizes to the winning participants.

On the occasion Shri Radheshyam Choubey, Assistant Security Commissioner, RPF, South-Eastern Railway was the chief-guest, and the special guest was Shri Anil Rai, Editor-in-Chief of Samagya daily newspaper.

The colorful contingents of the various houses from the morning and day sections of the school marched past to the tune of the band, saluting the guests.

In his inaugural address at the school’s annual sports festival, Shri Lalit Kankaria, Trustee and Secretary of Shri Jain Vidyalaya, said:

“While studies develop the young mind and intellect, sports activities, along with mental and intellectual development, also contribute to rapid physical fitness. The school organizes the annual sports festival to achieve this very goal.”

The presence of Shri Lalit Ji Kankaria, Secretary of the school, along with Mrs. Mousumi Ghoshal, Headmistress of the Girls’ Section, Mrs. Indu Joseph Choudhary, Principal of the Boys’ Section, senior journalist Shri Umesh Tiwari, and other guests, was a source of encouragement for everyone.

During the program, various exciting races were held for the students. The chocolate race, frog race, school bag race, balance race, etc., designed for the younger students, were particularly engaging.

The smiles on the faces of the participants filled their parents, seated in the audience, with immense joy. Later, various events for the older students, including 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 500m, and 1000m races, relay races, parachute races, button races, and tug-of-war, greatly entertained and thrilled the spectators.

All the winning participants were awarded medals and trophies by the esteemed guests.

The success of the school’s Annual Sports Day was largely due to the significant contributions of the school’s sports teachers, Shri Vinod Singh, Shri Anil Tiwari, Mrs. Garima Singh, and teacher representatives Shri Santosh Kumar Tiwari, Shri Sanjay Singh, Shri Pranavesh Mishra, Mrs. Sarita Singh, Shri Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Mrs. Anju Singh, Mrs. Mom Chanda, Mrs. Madhumita Das, Shri Satish Singh, Shri Somen Chakraborty, Shri Bheem Mahto, and Shri Chandradev Chaudhary.

The headmistresses of the boys’ and girls’ sections, Mrs. Mausumi Ghoshal and Mrs. Indu Joseph Chaudhary, congratulated all the winning participants.

The school’s secretary, Shri Lalit Ji Kankaria, thanked all the teachers, spectators, parents, and students, encouraging them all. Refreshments were also provided to all the students present.
